In our previous post, we went into detail regarding just a few of the amenities that our guests commonly find in our rental properties. These luxury features are what make cabins special places to stay compared to hotels, motels and condo units. They help make your vacation accommodations more like home - and, in some cases, even more special.
We continue this week with an overview of several more amenities that we are able to offer with our overnight rentals. Specific amenities will vary from location to location. Always be sure to check each property listing to verify exactly what it has to offer.
Laundry facilities – When you're taking the family on a vacation of a week or longer, you have two options - 1) Pack enough clothes for everyone to wear for the entire trip. Or 2) Pack more minimally but plan on doing laundry. If you prefer to take the second route, you're in luck, because cabins with washers and dryers help you pack lighter. True, you'll have to spend some amount of time doing laundry, but at least you get to do it in the comfort of your rental cabin. It sure beats going to a public laundromat while you're on vacation.
Game rooms – Most rental cabins have some sort of recreational equipment on site, most commonly a pool table. Some locations have full-fledged game rooms that are outfitted to accommodate a wide range of family-fun activities. In addition to pool tables, you might find air hockey tables, video game systems or game tables that are ideal for playing board games or putting together puzzles.
Viewing decks – This architectural feature is prevalent in rental cabins in the Smokies, especially on properties that benefit from amazing views of the mountains. Whether you have a deck on one, two or three levels or if it's a wraparound structure or located on just one side of the cabin, decks are the ideal place to settle into a comfortable chair, put your feet up and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Whirlpool tubs – Last week, we discussed how popular hot tubs are in rental properties, but those are typically found outside the cabin, usually on one of the deck levels. But many cabins also have whirlpool tubs in the primary bathroom or even secondary bathrooms. These jetted tubs are a great way to relax and let the tension of the day melt away, and because they're indoors, you can enjoy them day or night, all year long.
