One of the most appealing aspects of renting a cabin in the Smokies is that it can often provide all the comforts of home. And in most cases, you'll probably have a few creature comforts that you might not even have at your permanent residence. Vacations are special experiences that most of us only get to have once or maybe twice a year. So when traveling, you want to maximize your enjoyment by staying at a property that's designed to cater to your comfort and entertainment.
At Volunteer Cabin Rentals, our inventory of vacation rentals in the Smokies offers a wide range of locations and sizes, although the amenities may vary, depending on which cabin you choose. But this week, we'd like to introduce you to some of the more common features that you'll encounter. Again, not all properties have all the amenities we'll mention.
Fireplaces – After a cold winter's day in the Great Smoky Mountains - whether you're hiking, shopping, skiing or whatever - nothing feels better than curling up in front of a roaring wood-burning or gas fireplace. It's not only nice for warming back up, but there's something about watching those dancing flames that's magical and enchanting on a chilly evening. And if you have someone special nearby to curl up with, a fireplace can certainly be a romantic touch.
Hot tubs – Everything we just described about fireplaces also applies to hot tubs. Even in an outdoor hot tub, a frigid winter night is no match for those hot and bubbling waters. Hot tubs are not only good for warming up those cold bones, but they can also be therapeutic and relaxing, the perfect way to unwind after a long day of playing in the mountains.
Kitchens – While dining out is a beloved vacation tradition, there are times when it makes more sense to stock up on your own foods, especially if you're traveling with a large group, like for a family reunion or a church outing. Most of our properties come with full kitchens similar to what you might have at home, with major appliances like stoves/ovens, refrigerators and dishwashers. Depending on the property, you might also find smaller appliances like toasters, coffee makers and blenders. And our kitchens typically include all the dishes, cookware and utensils you'll need to lay out your own spread. So whether you just need a place to keep lots of snacks or you want to actually prepare a full meal for two people (or a large group), you'll have all the tools at your disposal. All that's left to do is find a local supermarket and prepare to stock up.
In our next post, we'll outline even more amenities commonly found when you rent a cabin in Wears Valley from us.
