Have you ever noticed how different your perspective can be regarding time? Like how a day can drag so slowly when you really just want your workday to be over, or how time passes so quickly while sharing laughter with your favorite people. Make the most of every vacation moment by spending your time in the Smokies at Weeks Worth.
This 3 bedroom/3 bath home may appear to be an unassuming little cabin in the woods from its street view, yet it boasts a cheerful personality and so much more inside. Consider this location for a two-family reunion or girls’ getaway trip. Located in the Wonderland Woods community, it is tucked hillside to provide a peaceful wooded view, and winter seasonal views of Cove Mountain and the surrounding rolling foothills of Wears Valley. Because of its close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, stepping outside feels like spending time in the National Park in the backyard sights, smells, and sounds you’ll find here.
The outside amenities offer multiple ways to relax. The backyard is a sloped cleared area where you can easily toss a football and play catch. Two covered porches provide rockers and a porch bench swing to wrap your hands around a warm mug and sit down to explore what an early settler might have felt in the morning mist. Oh, and that resident bear cub is quite friendly, no worries. There are two levels of wraparound decks, with both covered and open air spaces. So many opportunities to wisely spend your time outdoors, and even have some privacy alone. On a blue-sky day, why not bask in the sunshine and take a short nap…or a long one? Adirondack chairs and a round dining table with seating allows your group to keep the grillmaster company while tending the steaks on the gas grill. Then choose to enjoy your meal as a picnic in nature without even having to pack a basket. Note also the rare porch gates, which can contain the little ones to toddle about safely.
The lower level covered deck has an Adirondack-style bench swing, the absolute best location to read a book during a rain shower. Or set aside the time to immerse yourself in the corner hot tub, and swirl your stress away while listening to the woodland nightsong and counting the stars.
Step inside the cabin’s front door, into true open plan living. The vaulted great room features knotty pine wood-paneled walls and ceilings, creating an authentic lodge-like character not found with painted drywall finishes. The interiors are decorated with colorful Southern country charm, along with woodland touches and perhaps a few bear sitings.
The home lives large, with a spacious living area and plenty of seating to gather near the flat screen cable television and the mountain stone gas fireplace. Dibs on the comfy rocking chair to sit by the fire and feel its warmth. The large L-shaped kitchen occupies the opposite end of the great room, with more counter space than most, and a center preparation island with breakfast counter seating for 2. Immediately adjacent is the rectangular woodblock dining table with chairs and bench seating for 6, allowing a total of 8 to dine together.
Everyone can choose their own source of entertainment without dispute, since there are 4 cable televisions throughout the home, and free wireless internet for social media updates on the mobile phone or iPad.
There are also 2 bedrooms on the main level. The master queen bedroom suite is located just off the kitchen, and has a private full bath with oversized Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. Like all the other bedrooms, each has a substantial solid wood bed in various styles with cheerful floral patchwork quilt bedding.
Descend the stairs to the lower level, and you’ll find another complete cabin’s worth of living. An additional full living area offers a television and electric fireplace. A second spacious full kitchen with island seating for 2 is equipped for meals, and the rectangular cafe hightop table seats 4. After dinner, there are multiple surfaces for puzzles, board games, and card playing: at the large coffee table, the island counter, and the hightop table. Spread out and pause the action if you like without having to put things away. Open floor space also provides room for smaller children to play with all those toys.
There is an Aspen-log, full-size bunk bed in the corner by the stairs, perfect for late-night gigglefests. The third bedroom offers a Jenny Lind-style 4 poster bed, and there is a bonus 4th bedroom also located here. The lower level also has a shared full bathroom.
As you can see, this home has lots to offer, more than you might expect, and enough to find that personal way for each member of your party to best spend their time. Swimming pool privileges and access to a catch-and-release fish pond nearby are also included.
Whatever the length of your stay, whether a long while to hibernate or just a short respite, you will find much more than a “week’s worth” of relaxation and renewal here. Don’t let someone else make memories where you should. Reserve your stay today in this mountain cabin.
