Excitement is building here in the Great Smoky Mountains, as a number of new attractions get set to open in 2024. Visit anytime throughout the coming year to embark on unique new adventures like these....
Scheduled to open in December 2023, this miniature-golf attraction will offer two 18-hole courses – one indoors, with a mermaid theme; the other on the roof, featuring (you guessed it) sky pirates. As you and your family play through the challenging obstacles, you'll get to interact with mermaids and pirates in an epic adventure enhanced with realistic special effects. The kiddos will have a blast!
Originally slated to open in July 2023, this construction-focused attraction is now due to open in early 2024. Billed as the largest construction-based theme park in the world, it will offer more than 25 hands-on adventures spread across 27 acres in picturesque Wears Valley.
Kids of all ages will get to operate full-size adult construction equipment – from excavators, forklifts, and skid-loaders to dump trucks, tractors, and more – all modified for safety and fully equipped with comfortable rollercoaster seating. If your youngsters love playing with toy trucks, they'll have the time of their lives “digging into” the real thing.
Imagine an attraction with no rides – no coasters, water slides, Ferris wheels, you name it – yet so exciting that it draws more than 2 million visitors annually to its flagship location in western France.
That's what you'll find at Puy du Fou (pronounced “Pwee doo Foo”), the famous European attraction coming soon to the Tennessee Smokies. Developed by Philippe and Nicholas de Villiers, Puy du Fou immerses visitors in thrilling historical dramas involving true-to-life characters ranging from Viking invaders to swashbuckling Musketeers...and many more.
Right now, Puy du Fou operates parks in France, Spain, England, the Netherlands, and, most recently, China. But its new Smoky Mountains venue will be its first-ever theme park in the USA. And, like other Puy du Fou parks, it will bring local history to life through an immersive, interactive experience, complete with skilled actors, special effects, and 3D video projection.
Funded by a $75 million investment by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, the Smokies Puy du Fou will focus on the valiant Cherokee volunteers who fought for America and the Allies during World War I. According to Cherokee Principal Chief Richard Sneed, the moving patriotic show will “[transport] guests back in time to feel firsthand the excitement and drama of [these] historical moments.”
With such a lavish budget and riveting storyline, the Smoky Mountains Puy du Fou should be an instant success. Why not plan on attending the opening? You'll be a part of history!
Dolly Parton's personal journey has fascinated Americans for decades. In 2024, Dollywood will celebrate that journey in a whole new way via the Dolly Parton Experience, an interactive, experiential attraction at the site of the former Chasing Rainbows Museum. Surrounded by video imagery and guided by Dolly's voice-over narrative, you'll explore everything from Dolly's childhood mementos to her iconic sparkling wardrobe. It's an amazing opportunity to get up close to country music's most iconic sweetheart.
...including two new kid-friendly attractions: Hasbro's NERF Action-Xperience and The Crayola Experience, both slated to open in Pigeon Forge in Fall 2024.
