Ever feel like you're missing out on sights and scenery because you're busy battling traffic?
It's a common experience.
But now there's a better way to tour the Tennessee Smokies. It's called Double Decker Bus Tours. And it's been operating – to rave reviews – since December 23, 2019.
For a surprisingly modest fee, you can:
Ride in a British double-decker bus
Relax in cushioned seating
Leave the driving to the experienced bus driver
View your surroundings in leisurely comfort, and...
Get the lowdown on Smoky Mountain attractions from an expert tour guide right there on the bus
Currently, Double Decker Bus Tours, Inc., operates two comfortable buses – one with an open-air top, the other with an enclosed upper level.
Both are genuine UK double-deckers, built in the British Isles. In fact, they're so authentic that their specially trained drivers sit on the right-hand side, just as drivers do in England!
Both buses depart daily (in season) from the Red Roof Mall office at 2850 Parkway in Pigeon Forge. Each bus rolls through Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and back, with stops along the way at:
If you like, you can hop off at any stop to shop, dine, sightsee, and visit attractions.
Then, when you're ready, you can simply hop back on (without paying an additional fee). Double Decker buses run about once per hour, so one will always be along shortly.
If you don't want to wait, you can join your bus at its next designated stop. When and where will that be? It's easy to find out. Just download the Double Decker Bus Tours app from Google Play or the company's website. Then track your bus in real time. Sweet!
