There's never been a better time to visit Anakeesta, Gatlinburg's mountaintop adventure hub. This year the iconic theme park offers more excitement than ever – including a magical nighttime walk through a galaxy of stars.
Never been to Anakeesta before? Get ready for mountains of fun. This award-winning outdoor theme park sits on 70 scenic acres 600 feet above downtown Gatlinburg. And it's loaded with thrilling attractions surrounded by stunning scenery.
The excitement begins at 576 Parkway, where you and your family can board the Chondola chairlift for a soaring 10-minute ride to the summit of Anakeesta Mountain. Choose from two aerial options: a four-person open-air chair complete with a rugged safety bar or an enclosed gondola cabin with comfortable seating for six. Either way, you'll enjoy sweeping views of Gatlinburg and surrounding mountains.
Prefer ground transportation? Climb aboard one of Anakeesta's giant Ridge Rambler trucks. These all-terrain passenger vehicles take you on a guided tour through gorgeous woodland scenery as you rumble up to the summit.
Once you arrive, you can:
What's it like to be a bird in the Great Smoky Mountains? Find out at BirdVenture, Anakeesta's latest attraction (opened December 2023). You and your family can explore three giant bird houses, romp through 12 interactive play zones, and slide down any of seven serpentine slides that twist and turn down the mountainside. Engineered to light up at night, these unique enclosed slides race over 25 to 50 feet of downhill terrain to their picturesque destination.
If you'll be visiting after 6 p.m., you won't want to miss Astra Lumina, an enchanted walk through a magical world of projections, lighting, and music, where you'll be surrounded by shimmering stars and immersed in the wonders of the cosmos.
Opened in October 2023, this first-in-the-USA attraction tells the story of dazzling falling stars, which are reborn and regenerated after their sojourn on earth.
The entire adventure takes about 45 minutes. Accompanied by hauntingly beautiful melodies, you'll walk a one-mile path through eight immersive zones:
