Renting a cabin when on vacation is a unique experience in its own right, apart from everything else you do on your trip. Unlike cookie-cutter hotels, motels and condos, cabins have their own unique personalities, with way more features and amenities than you could ever find in any of those other kinds of lodgings.
Cabins also offer a tremendous amount of flexibility when it comes to location and size, which means you can almost always find a property that will best suit your travel plans, whether you're looking to be close to all the attractions, shops and restaurants or just looking for a few days of peace and quiet, away from all the hubbub.
One of the first decisions you'll need to make when renting a cabin is how many bedrooms you'll need. At Volunteer Cabin Rentals, we have everything from one-bedroom getaways to rentals that have five bedrooms and more. Which size you choose largely boils down to how many people are in your travel party.
Obviously, if it's just two of you, a one-bedroom will do the trick, unless you simply want something with more square footage for a feeling of additional spaciousness. But let's say it's going to be mom and dad and two younger children. A one-bedroom cabin might still work if the specific cabin has a fold-out couch that can accommodate the young 'uns.
Larger families or groups that include multiple couples or perhaps two smaller families can start thinking about anything in the two- to four-bedroom range. Those offer a lot of flexibility, and don't forget about couches and fold-outs when calculating exactly how many people a cabin can accommodate.
Five-bedroom properties and larger might be needed for events like family reunions, church retreats or even corporate outings, getaways where you're anticipating a dozen people or more. Our largest cabins can sleep as many as 23 adults.
One of the advantages of these bigger cabins is that they often tend to have more amenities like extra-large dining areas where the whole group can gather and enjoy a meal at the same time. Plus you'll still have features like game rooms for group fun, whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, outdoor hot tubs and huge decks for enjoying the views, whether it's the Great Smoky Mountains or bucolic woodlands. And even though they're priced higher than smaller cabins, the largest properties can still be cost-effective when you have a dozen or more people sharing the expense.
The bottom line is that Volunteer Cabin Rentals gives you a wide range of options, regardless of how many people you're taking to the Smokies. Click here to browse our inventory of 1- to 7-bedroom rental cabins.
