Booking a rental cabin in the Smokies with us is easy. But making a final decision about which one to choose may be a little more involved. Before you pull the trigger on a reservation, you'll want to consider several factors that can have an impact on the quality of your stay. There are so many properties available in this area that the choices can seem overwhelming. But if you give a little thought to the criteria outlined below, it will actually make the decision-making process a lot more simple and streamlined.
The Wears Valley, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville region is pretty spread out, so think about narrowing your search down to a location that will be closest to the things you want to do most. What are your travel priorities? Great Smoky Mountains National Park? Music theaters? Outlet mall shopping? Dollywood? Finding a rental property close to your priorities will be a time saver in the end. Of if you plan on doing a little bit of everything, think about staying in Wears Valley or Pigeon Forge. These communities are centrally located and offer fairly easy access to the whole area.
This is one of the most important decision points you'll make. How many of you are traveling to the Smokies? Just you and a significant other? Or are you putting together a family reunion or other type of group function that may include a dozen guests or more. That factor will quickly help you sort out what type and size cabin you need. Look for a rental company that offers a wide range of cabins, from cozy one-bedroom properties to sprawling multilevel accommodations with five or more bedrooms.
Are you the kind of person that prefers a quiet, secluded cabin in the woods or on a mountain? Or do you want to be close to all the action, able to quickly travel to all the attractions, shops and restaurants on the main drag in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg? That choice alone can have a big impact on the nature of your accommodations.
These days, most rental properties offer decent amenities, although they do vary from cabin to cabin, rental company to rental company. Some of the essential features to look for include fireplaces (gas or wood), hot tub, some kind of game room, laundry facilities, decks or porches with scenic views, full kitchens and multiple TV screens.
