Ready to try something different for Thanksgiving Weekend 2019? Come to the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge area in Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains.
Whether you dine at a local restaurant, order delicious takeout, or cook up your own tasty feast, you'll get to savor an authentic Appalachian holiday here amid breathtaking scenery.
Need a break from cooking and cleaning up afterward? Many Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge restaurants serve scrumptious holiday fare on Thanksgiving Day. Choose from these famous eateries and more:
When you're all finished feasting, you can shop for authentic Old Mill dinner ingredients at the Old Mill Farmhouse Kitchen; purchase freshly milled grits and meal at the Old Mill General Store; satisfy your sweet tooth at the Old Mill Candy Kitchen; and browse for artisanal bakeware, dinnerware, and decorative pieces at Old Mill Pigeon River Pottery.
Or, if you like, you can order from the regular menu, which has everything from award-winning crispy fried chicken to mouthwatering meatloaf and catfish. All meals are served family-style, accompanied by Mama's award-winning buttermilk biscuits.
Prefer a leisurely Thanksgiving meal in the comfort of your Smoky Mountains cabin? You're in luck. Several area restaurants offer special Thanksgiving takeout.
Bennett's Pitt BBQ, for example, provides a full take-home feast – 12-lb. roasted turkey, four quarts of mashed potatoes, two pints of creamy gravy, four quarts of seasoned dressing, four quarts of vegetables (your choice), 15 rolls, plus two pumpkin pies – all for just $100 ($115 if you choose a 15-lb. turkey). Simply place your order a few days beforehand, then pick it up between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day onsite at 2910 Parkway, Pigeon Forge.
Of course, you can also opt to fix your own Thanksgiving dinner right in your rental cabin. Most cabins come equipped with a full gourmet kitchen, including cookware, dinnerware, and serving utensils.
...along with Thanksgiving Night fireworks at Pigeon Forge's Titanic Museum Attraction, Black Friday shopping at Gatlinburg's Arts & Crafts Show, magical Winterfest lights, and more. Contact Volunteer Cabin Rentals to book your Thanksgiving getaway now!
