If you're staying in one of our secluded Pigeon Forge cabins, you may not be interested in staying totally secluded for your entire visit. Chances are you'll want to get out and do some exploring and have some fun while you're in town, and with the temperatures creeping up into the 90s this week, we probably need to steer you toward Dollywood's Splash Country.
This water park, located adjacent to the original Dollywood theme park, has dozens of water-themed slides, rides and activities spread out over dozens of rolling foothills acres. There's something for every age, from tots and teens to parents and grandparents.
Highlights include Slick Rock Racer, a multilane mat slide; the family-soaking Bear Mountain Fire Tower; the raft-riding fun of Big Bear Plunge, a lazy river ride, a wave pool and body slides that range from tame to insane. There are also a couple of areas that are ideal for kiddies, with shallow play areas and fun water features for them to interact with.
Coming next year is RiverRush, the state's first and only water coaster. Using special Hydromatic technology, the ride keeps passengers propelled on a soaking journey through drops, hairpin turns and dark tunnels.
