5 Fun Things To Do In Your Rental Cabin This Summer

Posted by Jon Hoffman in Things To Do

If you've been thinking about traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains this summer but haven't made any plans yet, it's not too late. We still have availabilities in many of our properties in the Wears Valley/Pigeon Forge area of East Tennessee. And of course, once you arrive in the Smokies, you'll easily come up with all kinds of ways to keep yourself and your family entertained during your stay - everything from shows and attractions to outlet mall shops and great restaurants.

But don't forget that if you book accommodations with us, you have a great vacation resource already built into your stay - the cabin itself. While you'll surely be spending a fair amount of time going out and doing things in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the national park, don't forget that our properties have a lot of great amenities that can make staying back in the cabin fun and relaxing in its own right.

1. Movie night – If it turns out that you choose to stay in one evening, that doesn't mean it has to be lights-out at 10 p.m. All our properties are furnished with at least one large-screen TV, so fire it up and stream that blockbuster movie you've been wanting to see. You can also still find places to rent DVDs, or you may bring them from home, provided your cabin has a DVD player (that varies from cabin to cabin).

2. Pool, anyone? – Many of our cabins have various sorts of gaming opportunities. In a lot of cases, you'll find a full-size pool table to try out your skills. Some properties might offer other types of game-room staples like foosball tables. Some even have video gaming systems available.

3. Room with a view – Our cabins are largely concentrated in the Wears Valley community, where majestic Cove Mountain overlooks our scenic rolling valley. So whether you're closer to ground level or at a higher altitude, you'll probably be able to enjoy some great views of your surrounding landscape. In some cases, our cabins serve up stunning views of the Smokies range in the distance. Chances are, your cabin will feature plenty of deck space and chairs for sitting outside and taking in the scenery.

4. Party central – Because our properties come with full kitchens (including ovens and refrigerators), you're in good shape when it comes to having a group celebration, whether it's family, friends or even work associates. You'll be in position to whip up a full meal or just set out snacks and beverages while everyone socializes.

5. How do you like your burger? – Most of our cabins come outfitted with some type of grill, either charcoal or gas. If so, what a great way to combine mealtime with view time when you fire up some burgers, dogs or steaks and enjoy them out on the deck, basking in the beauty and serenity of the Great Smoky Mountains.

If all of this sounds good to you, see home page for details about how to make a reservation with us today.
